Ami Shah is an accomplished CPA and Tax Partner at PP&Co. She is a former Principal and founder of Ami Shah CPA and came to PP&Co through the merging of the two firms in August, 2026. Ami founded Ami Shah CPA in 2006 after serving in managerial roles with CPA firms throughout Silicon Valley. She brings more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, with a particular focus on tax planning, business advisory, international tax, and accounting services for closely held businesses, investors, and individuals.
Ami’s extensive experience includes developing strategic tax plans, advising business owners on entity structure and accounting for business and real estate transactions, and assisting clients with complex domestic and international tax matters. Her areas of expertise include business and individual tax compliance, foreign transaction reporting, FBAR and Form 8938 compliance, QuickBooks consulting, bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and business management consulting.
As a member of the PP&Co leadership team, Ami will continue serving business owners, investors, families, and entrepreneurs while collaborating with the firm’s tax, accounting, assurance, and advisory professionals. Her client-centered approach emphasizes practical planning, clear communication, and the development of long-term relationships. She is especially passionate about helping clients understand complex tax issues and implement strategies that support their financial and business objectives.
Ami is known for her creative and proactive approach to tax planning. Over the course of her career, she has helped clients evaluate entity structures, manage tax liabilities, address cross-border reporting requirements, and make informed decisions regarding business growth, investments, and succession planning. Her experience will further enhance PP&Co’s capabilities in tax planning, international tax, business advisory, and services for closely held businesses.
Ami earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Mumbai and is a Chartered Accountant from India. She is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in California and holds a Master of Science degree in Taxation from San José State University. Her professional education also includes study at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
Ami is committed to supporting the professional and local communities. She has volunteered with JCNC and NGN and enjoys giving back through community involvement. Outside of work, Ami enjoys traveling with her family.

What is one thing you hope every client says about working with you?
“I felt truly cared for, listened to, and supported every step of the way.” Beyond technical excellence, I want our clients to know that we view them as whole human beings, not just account numbers. My goal is to ensure they feel supported so they can protect and keep more of what they’ve worked so hard to earn.
What inspired you to pursue a career in accounting, and what motivates you most about your work?
My dad inspired me to pursue this path. Growing up, I saw how money and business finances could cause so much stress for individuals and families. I wanted to be someone who could step into that worry, bring clarity, and offer genuine peace of mind. What motivates me today hasn’t changed. It’s the human stories behind the numbers. It’s celebrating with a small business owner when they hire their first employee, or helping a partner firm care for their people better. Being trusted with someone’s livelihood is a profound privilege, and it keeps me deeply humbled every day.
How do you measure success?
Guiding my life and work through compassion, mutual respect, and care for every individual, I measure success far beyond financial metrics. When our clients know they have a dedicated partner who cares deeply about their peace of mind and long-term well-being, that is the highest measure of success.
