A Message from PP&Co about COVID-19

As by now you are no doubt aware, Governor Gavin Newsom has issued a Shelter in Place Order for California, effective March 20th.  While we had been operating as an essential business under the Santa Clara and Santa Cruz County orders, the latest order exempts 16 federally defined critical sectors that excludes accounting firms. This mandates that we all shelter at home.  As a result, we have relocated the remaining portions of our operations that were still in our offices, and all of our staff will be working remotely. We want to assure you that we are here and available, and will continue to serve you through this difficult time.

As both Federal and state tax returns and payments for most have been extended until July 15th, the urgency to complete and file tax returns has lessened. If you have previously scheduled a tax or any other appointment in our office, we would ask that you to please send your documents directly to our office and set up a phone, Skype or Zoom meeting. We will be picking up mail periodically, so if you have mailed your documents, we will receive them.

We want to remind you that the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and all infections is to follow the existing standard precautions we have already been taking. This includes washing your hands with soap and water, covering your mouth if you cough or sneeze, staying home when you are sick, and limiting touching your eyes nose and mouth.

In order to protect our employees, their families, our clients and our business associates, we must be very careful regarding any potential exposure.  We hope you understand and please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

We hope that you and those close to you are, and will remain, well and in good health. Thank you and we look forward to the time when this situation has been satisfactorily resolved and we can resume normal business function. Until then, we will continue to be available and working remotely and hope that you and yours will be safe and be well.

Sincerely,
