PPCO founder leaves lasting legacy

Fall 2001

James J. Petrinovich, founder of Petrinovich Pugh & Company, LLP, passed away on October 31, 2001. He founded the firm in 1951 and retired in 1986. In addition to his CPA firm, he was a successful restaurateur, operating a number of restaurants in the greater San Jose area.

Merger brings experience to PPCO

Fall 2001

Robert A. Petersen and Petersen & Associates, of Menlo Park, merged with PP&CO. Petersen has focused on state and local taxation issues. He has lead Petersen & Associates for over 20 years. Prior to 1982, he was with Price Waterhouse. His last assignment was managing the San Jose Tax Practice.

John Kawamoto promoted to partner

Summer 2001 

John R. Kawamoto was promoted to partner in the firm. He has been with the firm since 1990 serving a variety of clients. He is a CPA and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).

Yamate & Sekigahama Accountancy Corporation merged with PP&Co...Henry Yamate has joined PP&Co after 41 years in public accounting in the San Jose area. The merger of the two firms has further expanded the capabilities offered to all our clients.

PP&Co celebrated 50 years of service and excellence through its business operations in Silicon Valley. The firm was founded in 1951 when...the first color television had just been introduced and "I Love Lucy" was premiering...President Truman fired General MacArthur...the cost of a local phone call had just doubled from $.05 to $.10...Bobby Thompson of the Giants hit "the shot heard round the world"
