Long nights of counting bowling pins a reward for the long hours of tax season

July 24, 2007

One of the rewards Petrinovich Pugh & Company provides our staff for working long hours during tax season is to hold 'Fun Days' once a month during the summer. This month, the firm counted pins and balanced score sheets at The Three Hundred Bowling Alley in south San Jose . Petrinovich Pugh & Company is committed to the philosophy that having a healthy balance between work and life not only benefits our employees, but benefits our clients and plays a vital role in the success of our business.

A survey by the workplace consulting firm KEYGroup shows that one out of five employees will look for a new job this year because of "balance issues."

"Our staff is our most valuable commodity," said Partner John Kawamoto , "Everyone puts in a lot of time during tax season and anything we can do to make them more comfortable is a wise investment."

Although there was no formal competition, staff accountant  Kyle Bridgeman  knocked down the most pins scoring a 200. Other firm ‘Fun Day' events include bocce ball, go-cart racing and attending baseball games.

There is always something going on at PP&Co. Between our events, networking, social gatherings and day-to-day achievements, we’re always learning and doing what we can to arm ourselves with information that will benefit our clients and firm growth.
