PPCGoverner appointss Bob Petersen to California Board of Accountancy.
March
15 , 2006
Governor Schwarzenegger appointed Bob Petersen
to the California Board of Accountancy. Bob
is recognized as one of the most experienced
CPAs in the state with sales/use tax and multi-state
income tax compliance, and is a tremendous resource
to Petrinovich Pugh & Company. His appointment
makes Bob even more valuable as he will be closer
to emerging issues in the accounting profession.
The California Board of Accountancy exists to
protect the public from improper accounting
practices. It oversees education, examination,
and discipline issues for CPAs in order to ensure
Californians receive the best accounting services
available. The Board also determines what qualifies
as continuing education and issues all California
CPA licenses. It meets six times a year and
is comprised of 15 members: seven CPA licensees,
and eight consumer representatives.
Bob is chair of the Government Relations Committee
for the California Society of Certified Public
Accountants and a former president of the organization.
He has served on the Board of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and
was an Executive Committee member for the AICPA’s
Tax Division. He brings more than 40 years of
accounting experience to the Board, has authored
or co-authored several California tax-related
publications, and lectures frequently on emerging
California tax issues.
